Reporting medication errors is crucial for improving quality of care and patient safety in acute care settings. To date, little is known about how reporting varies between early and mid-career nurses. Thus, this study used a cross-sectional, secondary data analysis design to investigate the differences between early (under the age of 35) and mid-career (ages 35-54) female nurses by examining their perceptions of patient safety culture using the Korean Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (HSPSC) and single-item self-report measure of medication error reporting. A total of 311 hospital nurses (260 early-career and 51 mid-career nurses) completed questionnaires on perceived patient safety culture and medication error reporting. Early-career nurses had lower levels of perception regarding patient safety culture (p = 0.034) compared to mid-career nurses. A multiple logistic regression analysis showed that relatively short clinical experience ( less then 3 years) and a higher level of perceived patient safety culture increased the rate of appropriate medication error reporting among early-career nurses. However, there was no significant association between perception of patient safety culture and medication error reporting among mid-career nurses. Future studies should investigate the role of positive perception of patient safety culture on reporting errors considering multidimensional aspects, and include hospital contextual factors among early-, mid-, and late-career nurses.The first step in influenza virus infection is the binding of hemagglutinin to sialic acid-containing glycans present on the cell surface. Over 50 different sialic acid modifications are known, of which N-acetylneuraminic acid (Neu5Ac) and N-glycolylneuraminic acid (Neu5Gc) are the two main species. Animal models with α2,6 linked Neu5Ac in the upper respiratory tract, similar to humans, are preferred to enable and mimic infection with unadapted human influenza A viruses. Animal models that are currently most often used to study human influenza are mice and ferrets. Additionally, guinea pigs, cotton rats, Syrian hamsters, tree shrews, domestic swine, and non-human primates (macaques and marmosets) are discussed. The presence of NeuGc and the distribution of sialic acid linkages in the most commonly used models is summarized and experimentally determined. We also evaluated the role of Neu5Gc in infection using Neu5Gc binding viruses and cytidine monophosphate-N-acetylneuraminic acid hydroxylase (CMAH)-/- knockout mice, which lack Neu5Gc and concluded that Neu5Gc is unlikely to be a decoy receptor. This article provides a base for choosing an appropriate animal model. Although mice are one of the most favored models, they are hardly naturally susceptible to infection with human influenza viruses, possibly because they express mainly α2,3 linked sialic acids with both Neu5Ac and Neu5Gc modifications. A total of 15 right-handed de novo, neurologically asymptomatic, CD patients and 15 age-matched healthy controls were screened for cognitive and depressive symptoms to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS), respectively. TMS consisted of resting motor threshold, amplitude, latency, and duration of the motor evoked potentials, duration and latency of the contralateral silent period (cSP). Transcallosal inhibition was evaluated as duration and latency of the ipsilateral silent period (iSP).
MoCA and HDRS scored significantly worse in patients. The iSP and cSP were significantly shorter in duration in patients, with a positive correlation between the MoCA and iSP.

However, while these functions are very crucial to describing many second- and higher-order perturbation processes, they have hardly been considered and classified for complex atoms. Here, we show how relativistic (many-electron) Green functions can be approximated and systematically improved for few- and many-electron atoms and ions. The representation of these functions is based on classes of virtual excitations, or so-called excitation schemes, with regard to given bound-state reference configurations, and by applying a multi-configuration Dirac-Hartree-Fock expansion of all atomic states involved. A first implementation of these approximate Green functions has been realized in the framework of Jac, the Jena Atomic Calculator, and will facilitate the study of various multi-photon and/or multiple electron (emission) processes.We synthesized twelve hybrids based on curcumin and resveratrol, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. The chemopreventive potential of these compounds was evaluated against SW480 human colon adenocarcinoma cells, its metastatic derivative SW620, along with the non-malignant CHO-K1 cell line. Among the tested compounds, hybrids 3e and 3i (for SW480) and 3a, 3e and 3k (for SW620) displayed the best cytotoxic activity with IC50 values ranging from 11.52 ± 2.78 to 29.33 ± 4.73 ?M for both cell lines, with selectivity indices (SI) higher than 1, after 48 h of treatment. Selectivity indices were even higher than those reported for the reference drug, 5-fluorouracil (SI = 0.96), the starting compound resveratrol (SI = 0.45) and the equimolar mixture of curcumin plus resveratrol (SI = 0.77). The previous hybrids showed good antiproliferative activity.
